Passkeys - approved devices for Buypass ID-Keys

Buypass ID-Keys (Passkeys / Fido2) is certified according to eIDAS regulations and self-declared in Norway in accordance with the Self-Declaration Regulations. See NKOM's list of self-declared eID schemes.

Devices used for generating keys are part of the certification.

Buypass uses FIDO Alliance Metadata Service.

The FIDO Alliance Metadata Service (MDS) is a centralized repository for the Metadata Statement used by Buypass and other trust service providers to validate authenticator attestation and prove the genuineness of the device model. MDS provides information about the certification status of the authenticators and any security issues found. For ID-Key authentication, Buypass has implemented the use of MDS to select the certification level required to comply with the requirements of eIDAS.
